Testimonials

I can honestly say that in all the years I have been involved in school trips, Mount Batten watersports and activities centre was the best fun and welcoming place I have ever brought school children to. The accommodation was very good, the food managed to be both appetizing and plentiful, whilst the number and variety of activities on offer ensured that every child will have brought home their own cherished memory. The instructors in particular were very enthusiastic and impressive in their efforts to ensure all the children, whatever their abilities were able to excel.

The Mount Batten Centre just outside Plymouth is the perfect venue for a schools residential. Based right on the edge of the Plym Estuary just around the corner from the historic Plymouth Sound where the America’s Cup took place in September 2011.

The centre is perfect for school trips being accredited by AALA and the Learning Outside the Classroom quality badge, and is also recognized as a learning destination for the Children’s University project. We can tailor for most needs and our dedicated team will work with you to ensure that your visit is safe, enjoyable and provides the personal and learning outcomes specific to your schools needs.

Our instructional team are qualified by the national governing bodies BCU, RYA and BMC and we pride ourselves on our exemplary health and safety record. All essential safety equipment and clothing is provided. Additionally the centre is fully accessible by wheelchair and we have specially modified Keelboats and Dinghies allowing access to the water for all.

With good transport links into Plymouth by Train, the Centre can even offer an action packed stay without the need for expensive coach hire.

Access to the historic Barbican and Hoe are quick and easy too with a regular Water Taxi service operating between the Mount Batten peninsula and the Barbican or by special arrangement we can even collect/deliver groups using our fleet of Powerboats from the historic Mayflower steps.

By working with our agreed partners we can offer additional activities and experiences such as a visit or even an educational day at the National Marine Aquarium.
